I have been looking around recently to try to find some good Kids art supplies. i’m going to buy a dvd today on the internet and just practise from there..i find it hard to stay motivated because girls in my class are so good and i feel they look down on me..infact i know it..i’d really appreciate if someone could just inspire me to keep practising!

i had a similar experience last summer. I had just began dancing and there were about 10 other girls and they were ALL better than me. I felt as if i couldn’t dance AT all. Many times i would have to stop and ask the instructor if he could repeat the steps, i was really embarrassed. By the time my performance came i was just as good as everyone else. I felt great, like i had accomplished something, it just took a little more time . Also realize some of these girls practice all day, everyday , dancing is probably their entire life. Don’t be so hard on yourself, relax , don’t worry about other people watching you and what they think. It will make you tense and it will be harder to dance. You’ll get the hang of it. DON”T GIVE UP.

First of all the video is just a series of long exposures made with a still camera, not a video camera.

materials which you will need:
1. a camera(preferably digital) with the ability to shoot in manual mode as you will need to select a long shutter speed of over 10 seconds as it does take people a bit of time to draw figures using flashlights and LED lights.
2. a tripod
3. LED lights / flashlights or any small light for the matter, can even be candles if you choose. Just try to keep the light sources small and all of about the same candlpower or shall I say brightness.
4. a group of friends who can do quick sketches and have a concept of how animations work. Make sure they are wearing black or dark clothes.

First of all find yourself a nice open space such as a park or a large backyard and make sure that it is absolutely dark. Set your camera up on a tripod and select a somewhat long shutter speed. Start with about 10 seconds. Make sure that your ISO isn’t set too high, I would stick right around the 200-400 ISO range. In terms of aperture try anywhere from F2.8-5.6.
As with all night photography you will have to experiment to find a proper exposure so feel free to play around with the shutter/aperture or ISO as much as you want until you find something which works for your lighting conditions.
So after you get your exposure dialed in, press the shutter release and tell your friends to start drawing something of their choice, preferably something easy which is repeatable. When the shutter closes tell your friends to freeze and move a couple a foot away or so from where they are and tell them to try to draw the same figure again. Repeat this process as many times as you want, but at least 15 times(the more photos, the less choppy the video), and when you are done take the photos and import them into any video editing software. Each still frame photo should be no longer than a couple of frames, a setting which you can control in the general settings. After you are done hit render, and you have yourself a video.
